Pushpa 2: The Rule’ Sets Record with Rs 30.88 Crore in Advance Bookings Ahead of Release

December 2, 2024: Pushpa 2: The Rule, the highly anticipated sequel starring Allu Arjun, is already making waves at the box office before its official release on December 5. The film has shattered records with a massive Rs 30.88 crore in advance bookings for its opening day in India. The Telugu version leads the pack with Rs 10.28 crore, followed by the Hindi and Malayalam versions, all contributing to an impressive pre-release total.

With four days still to go before its release, the film’s pre-sales indicate its widespread popularity. The Telugu version has already earned Rs 10.28 crore, while the Hindi version contributes Rs 7.45 crore, and the Malayalam version adds Rs 46.69 lakh. Notably, IMAX 2D and 3D screenings have seen strong ticket sales, further boosting the numbers.

The advance booking figures reflect the film’s strong performance across various regions. Telangana is leading with Rs 6.76 crore, rising to Rs 9.38 crore with blocked seats, followed by Karnataka with Rs 3.15 crore, which increases to Rs 4.79 crore with blocked seats. Maharashtra ranks third with Rs 2.64 crore, which climbs to Rs 3.57 crore with blocked seats.

The film has sold an estimated 6.59 lakh tickets for 16,006 shows across India, generating Rs 21.49 crore in ticket sales. With blocked seats included, the total advance booking collections have reached an astounding Rs 30.88 crore.

Globally, Pushpa 2 is making a major impact, with early bookings in the USA contributing to an overseas collection of around Rs 70 crore. Projections suggest a worldwide opening-day gross of Rs 303 crore, with Rs 233 crore expected from the domestic market alone.

Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil. However, ahead of its release, the film has stirred controversy, with environmentalist Srinivas Goud filing a complaint against Allu Arjun for referring to his fans as an “Army” during a promotional event. Goud claims that the term holds significant honor and should not be used lightly. The Jawahar Nagar Police are currently investigating the matter.
