After the blockbuster success of Pushpa 2: The Rule, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna are set to return for the third and final installment of the Pushpa franchise. Producer Ravi Shankar has confirmed that Pushpa 3: The Rampage will hit theaters in 2028, sparking major box office anticipation.
Pushpa’s Box Office Dominance
The Pushpa franchise has been a game-changer in Indian cinema, with its pan-India appeal and record-breaking box office numbers.
Total Box Office Collections (All Languages):
- Pushpa: The Rise – ₹268 crore
- Pushpa 2: The Rule – ₹1265.97 crore
- Total: ₹1533.97 crore
This makes Pushpa the only Indian franchise to surpass ₹1500 crore in domestic collections.
Pushpa vs. KGF – The Battle for ₹2000 Crore
Yash’s KGF franchise also made waves at the box office, with KGF Chapter 2 becoming the third highest-grossing Indian film after Pushpa 2 and Baahubali 2.

Total KGF Franchise Collections:
- KGF Chapter 1 – ₹186 crore
- KGF Chapter 2 – ₹865 crore
- Total: ₹1051 crore
While KGF Chapter 3 is expected to be massive, it will require a ₹949 crore+ box office run to enter the ₹2000 crore club. However, with Pushpa 3 only needing ₹482 crore, it has a higher chance of achieving this historic milestone first.
What’s Next for Pushpa 3?
- Ravi Shankar confirmed the film’s 2028 release.
- Allu Arjun will first complete projects with Atlee and Trivikram Srinivas before returning as Pushpa Raj.
- Director Sukumar will helm Ram Charan’s next before diving into Pushpa 3.
If Pushpa 3: The Rampage delivers as expected, it could become the first-ever ₹2000 crore Indian franchise, setting a new benchmark for Indian cinema.
