March 2, 2025: Chennai: Popular actor R Madhavan has finally addressed the ongoing rumours suggesting that he indulges in flirtatious conversations with young girls on Instagram. The actor, who was recently in Chennai for the launch of a parental control app, Parent Geenee Inc, set the record straight regarding the misinterpretation of his social media interactions.

Madhavan on Social Media Misunderstandings

During his speech, Madhavan explained how misleading screenshots can create false narratives.

“A young girl messages me saying she loved my movie, that I inspire her. She ends the message with hearts and kiss emojis. Out of courtesy, I reply with a simple ‘Thank you so much, God bless you.’ But then, she takes a screenshot of my reply and posts it on Instagram. What do people see? Only the hearts and kisses, and suddenly there’s a rumor that ‘Maddy is chatting with young girls,’” he said.

Madhavan emphasized how social media scrutiny forces celebrities to be extremely cautious about their responses, adding that if he, with years of experience, faces such issues, young individuals are at even greater risk.

As a strategic partner in Parent Geenee Inc, Madhavan highlighted the importance of online safety for children and teenagers, ensuring that parents are aware of their child’s social media activity.

“This app will help parents understand when and how their kids use social media. It’s essential to educate children about digital footprints before they land in trouble,” he said.
