October 15, 2025: Actor R. Madhavan has set the internet ablaze by unveiling the much-anticipated first look of his upcoming Netflix series, Legacy. The poster hints at a gritty, high-stakes crime drama, promising an intense narrative of family, power, and a crumbling empire.

Taking to his social media, R. Madhavan shared the striking poster with a powerful Tamil caption that translates to a chilling question: “Samraajiyame pattri yeriginra podhu, Kreedathai aniya thunivadhu yaar? (When the empire begins to burn, who dares to wear the crown?). Watch Legacy, coming soon, only on Netflix.”

About ‘Legacy’

The series centres on Periyavar, the aging patriarch of a dominant crime family, who finds himself racing against time to anoint a worthy successor and safeguard his vast dominion from internal and external threats.

“As rivalries rise, Legacy explores the emotional and psychological toll of power, family, and the fight to preserve one’s name in a crumbling dynasty,” reads the official synopsis.

The project is directed by Charukesh Sekar and produced by Kalyan Shankar under the banner of Stone Bench Pvt Ltd. It boasts a powerhouse ensemble cast including Madhavan, Gautham Karthik, Gulshan Devaiah, and Abhishek Banerjee, with Nimisha Sajayan also reportedly joining the cast.

Madhavan’s Upcoming Slate

Madhavan, who was last seen in the film The Test with Nayanthara, has a busy line-up. He is also set to feature in the Bollywood romantic comedy sequel, De De Pyaar De 2, releasing on November 14, 2025.

The trailer for De De Pyaar De 2 shows Madhavan taking on a pivotal role as the father of Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh). His character, Rajji Khurana, and his wife (Gautami Kapoor) pose a formidable new challenge for Aashish (Ajay Devgn) in his complicated age-gap relationship, creating a hilarious battle of love versus family approval.

Meanwhile, the dramatic first look of Legacy suggests a significant shift in genre, promising a compelling, performance-driven role for the actor on the streaming platform.
