On the occasion of his 44th birthday, National Award-winning actor Allu Arjun has treated his fans to a massive update regarding his highly anticipated collaboration with blockbuster director Atlee.
The film, which has been the subject of intense speculation for months, is officially titled Raaka. The announcement was accompanied by a cryptic first-look poster that has already sent social media into a frenzy.
The first look for Raaka leans heavily into a mysterious, supernatural aesthetic. While character details are being kept under wraps, the poster suggests a departure from traditional action roles, hinting that Allu Arjun may be portraying a character that is half-human and half-creature, or perhaps a shape-shifting entity.
This visual direction aligns with previous reports that the film will be a VFX-heavy spectacle produced to international standards.
Joining the “Icon Star” is Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone, marking her first on-screen pairing with Allu Arjun. While the core cast currently features these two powerhouses, unconfirmed reports suggest a massive ensemble including Janhvi Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur, and a potential reunion with his Pushpa co-star Rashmika Mandanna.
Pan-India Release and Production
Following the footsteps of the Pushpa franchise, Raaka is being positioned as a major pan-India release. Though primarily a Telugu production, the film will be dubbed and released in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. While a specific release date has not been locked in, industry insiders suggest the film is targeting a 2027 theatrical window to allow for extensive post-production and high-end visual effects work.
“The wait is over. Gear up for #RAAKA!” Allu Arjun tweeted, sharing the first look with his millions of followers on Wednesday morning.
