April 30, 2025: Ajay Devgn’s much-anticipated thriller Raid 2 is all set for a powerful opening as the film’s advance bookings have crossed 40,000 tickets in India’s leading cinema chains — PVR Inox and Cinepolis — just a day before its theatrical debut.
With advance bookings kicking off on April 27, the Raj Kumar Gupta-directed sequel has seen brisk sales, mostly driven by PVR Inox. The pre-release numbers surpass those of recent big titles like Kesari 2, which closed at 33,000 tickets sold in the same circuit.
Industry insiders project a Day 1 India net collection in the range of ₹15 to ₹17 crore, placing Raid 2 in a favorable position compared to other recent Bollywood releases. Despite facing competition from Kesari Chapter 2 and Jaat, the Ajay Devgn-led film appears poised for a solid theatrical run.
Reprising their roles from the 2018 blockbuster Raid, Ajay Devgn and Saurabh Shukla lead the film alongside newcomers Vaani Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, and Rajat Kapoor. The movie is set to clash with horror-comedy The Bhootnii, starring Sanjay Dutt, Mouni Roy, Sunny Singh, and Palak Tiwari.
While The Bhootnii taps into the trending horror-comedy space, lack of substantial pre-release buzz gives Raid 2 the edge in early box office performance.
