December 4, 2024: Ajay Devgn has officially announced the release date for the highly anticipated sequel to his 2018 hit Raid. The sequel, titled Raid 2, is set to hit theatres on May 1, 2025. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the film will see Ajay reprise his role as IRS officer Amay Patnaik.
Sharing the exciting news on Instagram, Ajay wrote, “IRS Amay Patnaik’s next mission begins from May 2025! Raid 2 is all set to release on 1st May 2025!”
Raid 2 will feature a strong ensemble cast, including Riteish Deshmukh, Vaani Kapoor, and Rajat Kapoor, alongside Ajay Devgn. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar. It is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series and is a Panorama Studios production. With Raid (2018) being inspired by a real-life income tax raid from the 1980s, fans can expect another intense, action-packed story based on real-life events.
The announcement also revealed that Ajay’s other upcoming film, De De Pyaar De 2, which was initially slated for release on the same day, will now be released at a later date.
Meanwhile, Ajay is currently enjoying the success of his latest film, Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty. The film, released during Diwali, marks Ajay’s return as the iconic police officer Bajirao Singham. Singham Again features an impressive cast, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Ranveer Singh, and Deepika Padukone, and faced a major clash with Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 at the box office.
