Raid 2 First Reviews: Ajay Devgn Packs a Punch, Riteish Deshmukh Steals the Show in a ‘Powerful’ Sequel
Mumbai, May 1, 2025:
The first reviews for Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh’s political thriller Raid 2 are in. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the sequel to the 2018 blockbuster Raid has been praised for its powerful performances, sharp dialogues, and thrilling plot that keeps audiences hooked till the final frame. While others are calling it a damp sqiib.
Returning as honest Income Tax Officer Amay Patnaik, Ajay Devgn takes on the corrupt political heavyweight Dadabhai, played by Riteish Deshmukh, whose transformation into the antagonist has become a major talking point.
🔹 One early review on X (formerly Twitter) called Raid 2 a “masterpiece,” praising the performances of Ajay, Riteish, Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Amit Sial, Supriya Pathak, and Vaani Kapoor.
🔹 Others called the film “very different from the first part, thrilling,” and said Riteish’s performance is ‘top class’ and perhaps even outshines Devgn in key moments.
Still others are calling it a disaster.
The makers recently released a teaser that piqued audience interest, and now with early reviews turning the tide, Raid 2 is shaping up to be one of the most engaging Hindi thrillers of 2025.
