February 19, 2025: New Delhi: Actor Prateik Babbar recently tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Priya Banerjee in an intimate ceremony at his late mother Smita Patil’s residence in Mumbai. However, the wedding stirred controversy as the Babbar family, including his father Raj Babbar and half-siblings, were not invited.

Aarya Babbar’s Witty Take on Family Marriages

During his recent stand-up comedy act, titled “Babbar Toh Shaadi Karte Rehte Hain?”, Aarya Babbar humorously pointed out the family’s history of multiple marriages.

“I agree, my father married twice, my sister has been married twice, and now my brother is getting married for the second time. Even my dog, Happy, has two girlfriends. So, I don’t mind getting married a second time, but I’m just too lazy to deal with the complications of a divorce.”

Raj Babbar’s Reaction: A Classic One-Liner

When asked how to respond to media queries about the Babbar family not being invited, Aarya shared his father Raj Babbar’s response:
“Tell them, mard toh shaadi karte rehte hain (men keep getting married).”

Aarya Babbar on Prateik’s Wedding Snub

In an interview with ETimes, Aarya expressed his disappointment over not being invited, particularly because he believed he and Prateik shared a close bond.

“I presume someone has overpowered his brain too much. He doesn’t want to connect with anyone from this side of the family. He has decided not to call anyone,” Aarya remarked.

While acknowledging that Prateik may have had personal reasons for not inviting his stepmother Nadira Babbar, Aarya felt that Raj Babbar should have at least been included.

“Life is no less than a film; someone in the house is influencing him. I don’t want to think it’s Prateik himself, and I don’t believe he’s like that,” he added.

Prateik and Priya shared beautiful pictures from their intimate ceremony, captioning them:

For the unversed, Prateik Babbar is the son of veteran actor Raj Babbar and the late Smita Patil. After Smita Patil’s untimely demise, Raj Babbar married Nadira Babbar, with whom he has two children, Aarya Babbar and Juhi Babbar.

Before Priya Banerjee, Prateik was married to Sanya Sagar, whom he wed in 2019, but they separated in 2023.
