Raj Kundra Brings Mystery—and Humor—to Reality Show ‘The Traitors’
May 30, 2025: Businessman and actor Raj Kundra, husband of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, is set to make his reality TV debut in the upcoming suspense-filled show ‘The Traitors’, premiering June 12 on Amazon Prime Video.
At the trailer launch event in Mumbai on Wednesday, Raj spoke about his strategy and how his trademark masked appearances could actually work in his favor on the show.
“Whenever I’ve worn a mask, people have always wondered what I’m hiding behind it. That air of mystery might just give me an edge in this game,” he said with a smile.
Adding a dash of humor, Raj joked about his connection to the show’s host, Karan Johar, saying, “‘The Traitors’ is a Kalyug-style show—you never know who’s a friend or foe. But since Karan Johar sir is hosting, I’ll definitely be using the ‘nepo-husband’ card!”
‘The Traitors’ is the Indian adaptation of the hit Dutch series De Verraders, which has gained global popularity with versions in over 30 countries, including the UK, US, and Australia.
Set in the majestic Suryagarh Palace in Rajasthan, the Indian version features a star-studded lineup including Karan Kundrra, Raftaar, Jasmin Bhasin, Jannat Zubair, Uorfi Javed, Anshula Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor, and more.
In the game, 20 celebrity contestants will compete for a massive cash prize—but there’s a twist. A few will secretly be chosen as “traitors” by Johar, and their mission will be to eliminate the others without getting caught. The rest must use wit, instinct, and teamwork to uncover the traitors before it’s too late.
‘The Traitors’ will stream every Thursday at 8 PM exclusively on Prime Video, starting June 12.
