The spontaneous celebrations on the film set quickly went viral, confirming the actor’s enduring charm and dedication to his craft, even as he completes 50 years in Indian cinema.

Cake-Cutting on Set

Photos and videos shared by the film’s producers, Sun Pictures, showed the iconic actor in an all-white traditional outfit, cutting a birthday cake surrounded by the production team. Director Nelson Dilipkumar and cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan were among those seen wishing the star and receiving a piece of cake directly from the ‘Thalaivar’.

The production house posted the celebratory moments on their X handle with the caption: “Moments from the sets of #Jailer2 celebrating our Superstar’s birthday! 🎉😎 #HBDSuperstarRajinikanth.”

Happy birthday, my friend @rajinikanth.” Actor Dhanush also extended his wishes, simply captioning his social media post, “Happy birthday thalaiva.”

Adding to the festive atmosphere, Rajinikanth’s iconic 1999 blockbuster, Padayappa, was re-released in theatres today to commemorate his 75th birthday, giving fans a chance to relive the film’s magic and Ramya Krishnan’s unforgettable portrayal of the antagonist, Neelambari.
