Rajinikanth Heads to Delhi for PM Modi's Historic Swearing-In Ceremony
Superstar Rajinikanth embarked on a significant journey from Chennai Airport on Sunday morning, bound for Delhi to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi. This event marks Modi’s third consecutive term as Prime Minister, a milestone in Indian political history.
Addressing the media at the airport, Rajinikanth conveyed his admiration and congratulations for Modi’s remarkable achievement. “Narendra Modi will be sworn in as PM consecutively for the third time. This is a very big achievement. My wishes to him. People have also elected a strong opposition in this Parliament election. It will lead to a healthy democracy,” Rajinikanth remarked. He also mentioned receiving an invitation for Chandrababu Naidu’s swearing-in ceremony as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and promised to provide updates about his attendance.
In addition to his praise for Modi, Rajinikanth extended his congratulations to Naam Thamizhar Katchi (NTK) coordinator Seeman for securing a significant vote share in the recent election, highlighting the dynamic political landscape.
The swearing-in ceremony for Prime Minister Modi and his council of ministers is scheduled for today at 7:15 PM. Modi’s re-election marks a historic moment, as he becomes the first leader since former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to be elected for three consecutive terms, having completed the full tenure of each previous term.
Preparations for the grand event are in full swing. Posters featuring the PM-designate have been prominently displayed throughout Delhi. To ensure smooth proceedings, approximately 1,100 traffic police personnel have been deployed, and an advisory has been issued to manage the traffic flow for the attending delegates.
The ceremony underscores India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy, with several leaders and state heads from neighboring regions and the Indian Ocean region invited as distinguished guests. This gathering of prominent figures reflects the importance of regional diplomacy and collaboration.
