Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Maalik’ Release Postponed, Set To Hit Theatres On This Date

April 25, 2025: Rajkummar Rao is set to take on a thrilling new role in his upcoming film Maalik, where he will portray a ruthless gangster in an action-packed storyline.

The highly anticipated film, directed by Pulkit and produced by Tips Films and Northern Lights Films, was originally scheduled for a June 2025 release but will now hit cinemas on July 11, 2025.

Rao shared the update with his fans on Instagram, revealing the film’s new release date while teasing his intense role. In his post, the actor wrote, “Raub, Rutba, aur RAJ hoga Maalik ka, 11 July se. Aa rahe hain #Maalik, 11 July se sirf cinemagharon mein.” (Power, authority, and RAJ will be Maalik’s essence, coming July 11 only in theatres).

The film has already been creating waves ever since its announcement in August 2024, with Rajkummar Rao’s first look as Maalik drawing considerable attention. The poster showcases the actor in a fierce avatar, holding a gun with a bold, gritty line: “Paeda nahi huye toh kya, ban toh sakte hai.” (What if we aren’t born that way but we can become). This striking statement hints at the transformation of Rao’s character into a menacing figure—reflecting the rise of a powerful, unyielding gangster.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the film, and it’s clear that Maalik will be a departure from Rajkummar Rao’s previous roles, showing a different side of his acting prowess. Known for his versatility, Rao is ready to step into a more intense and action-packed space with Maalik, promising a gripping ride.

Currently in post-production, the film has been shaping up to be one of the most awaited action flicks of 2025. Kumar Taurani and Jay Shewakramani are producing the film under their respective banners, and with Tips Films and Northern Lights Films backing the project, expectations are high for this high-octane drama.

Rajkummar Rao’s followers are already buzzing with excitement, and fans are anticipating this new role that promises to be both intense and thrilling. The release on July 11 will surely mark a major moment for Indian cinema as Rajkummar continues to push boundaries in his diverse career.
