February 17, 2026: Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav was released from Tihar Jail after the Delhi High Court granted him interim relief in a long-running ₹9 crore debt case. Acting on the High Court’s directive, the Karkardooma Court issued a formal release order, staying his sentence to allow him to attend his niece’s wedding in Shahjahanpur. The interim relief will remain in force until March 18.

As part of the bail conditions, Yadav was directed to deposit a demand draft of ₹1.5 crore in favour of the complainant by a 3 PM deadline on Monday. After his legal team confirmed the payment, the court finalised the terms of release. The actor has also been asked to surrender his passport and has been barred from leaving the country during the interim period.

Speaking to reporters after walking out of Tihar Jail, Yadav expressed gratitude for the support he received from the film industry and his fans. Reflecting on his three-decade journey in Bollywood, he said the love and backing from colleagues and well-wishers helped him through the difficult phase. He added that he complied fully with the High Court’s directions and thanked supporters across the country for standing by him.
