Rakul Preet Singh has officially started shooting for the much-anticipated sequel, ‘De De Pyaar De 2’. On Tuesday, the actress shared a glimpse from the set on her Instagram stories, showcasing her excitement.
The post featured a photo of Rakul in her vanity, holding a script, with the caption, “Back to my fav set!! DDPD 2 Begins.”
Directed by Anshul Sharma and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar of T-Series, along with Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg of Luv Films, ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ is set for a grand release on May 1, 2025, coinciding with International Labour Day and Maharashtra Day. The release date announcement was made via the official Instagram handles of Luv Films and T-Series, stating, “De De Pyaar De 2 will release on 1st May 2025.”
The original ‘De De Pyaar De’, released in 2019, was a romantic comedy directed by Akiv Ali and produced by Luv Ranjan. The film starred Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Rakul Preet Singh, Alok Nath, Javed Jaaferi, and Jimmy Shergill in key roles. It followed the story of Ashish (Ajay Devgn), a 50-year-old divorcee who falls in love with 26-year-old Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh), navigating the societal backlash and complex dynamics with his ex-wife (Tabu).Besides ‘De De Pyaar De 2’, Rakul Preet Singh is also set to appear in ‘Indian 2’ alongside Kamal Haasan. The film, which includes Bobby Simhaa and Priya Bhavani Shankar in significant roles, is a sequel to the 1996 hit ‘Indian’. The original featured Kamal Haasan as a freedom fighter taking a stand against corruption.
