Filmmaker hints that Dhurandhar 2, starring Ranveer Singh, could overshadow Yash’s Toxic at the box office.
Bollywood and South Indian cinema fans are gearing up for a high-voltage clash in March 2026 as Dhurandhar 2 and Yash’s Toxic are set to release around the same festive weekend. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has stirred the buzz further by taking a veiled dig at Toxic while lauding the Aditya Dhar directorial.
RGV’s comments on the clash
Varma took to X (formerly Twitter) to post: “DHURANDHAR 2 ‘S BITE will be TOXIC.” This comes after his earlier praise for Dhurandhar, which he called the “fireball of the Southies invasion into Bollywood,” highlighting the impact of the first film and building anticipation for its sequel.
Dhurandhar 2: The sequel expectations
Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh as Indian spy Jaskirat Singh Rangi and Akshaye Khanna as gang leader Rehman Dakait, became the #1 film of 2025, crossing ₹1000 crore worldwide. The sequel, releasing on March 19, 2026, will continue the espionage saga with a star-studded cast including Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.

The film has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.
