Ranbir Kapoor’s Tribute to Sanjay Leela Bhansali

During an on-stage interaction at IFFI, Ranbir reflected on his long-standing relationship with Bhansali, calling him his “godfather”. He said, “Everything I know about films, everything I know about acting, it is something I learnt from him.”

Ranbir first collaborated with Bhansali as an assistant director on Black (2005) before making his acting debut in the director’s Saawariya (2007). Describing Bhansali’s passion for filmmaking, Ranbir added, “He hasn’t changed at all. He is extremely hard-working. All he thinks about is his movies. He just wants to speak about the character, he wants you to create, do something different.”
