Film shifted to avoid box-office clash with Eid releases
February 15, 2026: Ranbir Kapoor revealed during an Instagram live session that his upcoming film Love & War has been postponed to avoid a box-office clash with Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, and Toxic, headlined by Yash. Both films are slated to release around March 19 during Eid. While Love & War was initially planned for Christmas 2025 and later March 2026, reports now suggest it remains on track for a 2026 release, though an official date is awaited.
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and co-starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, the film had sparked speculation about a possible 2027 delay due to pending shoots and extensive VFX work. However, recent reports indicate that major sequences have already been completed, including a song track, keeping the project largely on schedule. If delayed further, a potential December 2026 release could see it clash with King, starring Shah Rukh Khan and directed by Siddharth Anand.
Meanwhile, Ranbir confirmed that Ramayana Part One, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is set for an October release, in which he will portray Lord Ram. During the live session, he also praised Dhurandhar, calling it his current favourite and applauding its cast, crew and soundtrack. Apart from Love & War and Ramayana, Ranbir also has Brahmastra 2 in the pipeline.
