This grand project will feature Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor in the iconic role of Lord Ram, as confirmed by trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Sai Pallavi has been cast as Sita, and the versatile actor Yash will portray the formidable Ravana. These casting choices have already generated significant excitement among fans, setting high expectations for the adaptation of one of the most revered epics in Indian culture.

The project is being produced by Namit Malhotra, a renowned producer with a rich background in high-profile Hollywood films such as ‘Dune’ and ‘Inception’. On X (formerly Twitter), Malhotra shared his excitement for the film, expressing his dedication to making this adaptation the most authentic, sacred, and visually spectacular representation of the Ramayana. He also wrote a heartfelt message with the film’s first poster, revealing that this has been a passion project for over a decade.

The poster shared by Malhotra offers a dramatic glimpse of the grandeur of the Ramayana saga, featuring an arrow against a fiery sky, a symbol of both the divine and the epic battle that is at the heart of the story. The image sets the tone for the high-stakes conflict between Lord Ram and Ravana, alluding to the powerful and dramatic moments to come in the film.

Malhotra’s message accompanying the poster reads:
“More than a decade ago, I embarked on a noble quest to bring this epic that has ruled billions of hearts for over 5000 years to the big screen. And today, I am thrilled to see it taking shape beautifully as our teams work tirelessly with only one purpose: to present the most authentic, sacred, and visually stunning adaptation of our history, our truth, and our culture – our RAMAYANA – for people across the world.”

He continued, inviting audiences to join in this monumental journey:
“Join us as we fulfill our dream of bringing our greatest epic to life with pride and reverence… Part 1 in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027. From our entire Ramayana Family.”
