Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor is all set to star in the much-awaited ‘Dhoom 4,’ the next installment in Yash Raj Films’ iconic action franchise. Known for his versatility, Kapoor will undergo a dramatic transformation for the role, which he begins shooting in April 2026 after wrapping up his ongoing projects.

Currently, Kapoor is filming Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love and War’ in Mumbai, a historical drama also starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. Post its completion, Kapoor will focus on ‘Dhoom 4,’ with the production team finalizing two female leads and a villain. Reports suggest that Aditya Chopra is rebooting the ‘Dhoom’ series to connect with modern audiences, collaborating with writer Vijay Krishna Acharya for an immersive cinematic experience.

Kapoor’s involvement in ‘Dhoom 4’ had been in talks for years, with Aditya Chopra convinced that the actor is the perfect choice to carry forward the franchise’s legacy. Ranbir Kapoor’s career trajectory continues to soar, with ‘Dhoom 4’ being one of several marquee projects on his slate. He will also appear in the sequel to ‘Animal,’ titled ‘Animal Park,’ and the mythological epic ‘Ramayan,’ directed by Nitish Tiwari. In ‘Ramayan,’ Kapoor will portray Lord Ram, alongside Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana.

‘Dhoom 4,’ also referred to as ‘Dhoom Reloaded,’ aims to redefine Bollywood action films, with a focus on sleek visuals and captivating storytelling. The production team is reportedly scouting top talent from South Indian cinema for the antagonist role, adding to the movie’s grandeur and pan-India appeal.
