Rani Mukerji Makes An Exit From Akshay Kumar's OMG 3 Due To Creative Differences
Rani Mukerji has officially exited the upcoming project Oh My Goddess (widely referred to as OMG 3), ending months of speculation about her potential first-ever on-screen collaboration with Akshay Kumar.
While early reports in early 2026 suggested she had been cast in the lead role, it has since been clarified that the project faced a setback due to creative differences between the actress and director Amit Rai.
Reports indicate that the disagreement stemmed from conflicting visions regarding the script and the film’s post-production. According to industry sources, Mukerji—drawing on her years of professional experience—had specific perspectives on the project’s presentation, which reportedly did not align with director Amit Rai’s approach. Despite efforts by Akshay Kumar to mediate the situation, the two ultimately decided to part ways amicably to ensure the best possible energy for the film.
While pre-production work had been underway, the production team is now in the process of recasting the female lead. The film, which is a third installment in the satirical OMG franchise, is expected to continue its tradition of addressing socially relevant topics, though the delay is expected to push back the production timeline, which was tentatively scheduled for mid-2026.
