Ranveer Allahbadia Apologizes For “Inappropriate” Remarks On India’s Got Latent Amidst Backlash

February 10, 2025: YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, has issued a public apology for his “inappropriate” and “insensitive” comments made during his appearance on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent. The remarks, which sparked massive backlash, were deemed offensive by many, leading to a formal complaint filed against Allahbadia, comedian Samay Raina, social media influencer Apoorva Makhija, and the organizers of the show.

In a one-minute video shared on his X account, Allahbadia apologized for his comments, stating, “I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s Got Latent. I’m sorry.” The apology came hours after the controversial episode went viral on social media, with many condemning his remarks. In the video, Allahbadia admitted that his comments were “not just inappropriate, it wasn’t even funny,” and emphasized that “comedy is not my forte.”

He further explained that he was not seeking to justify or provide context for his behavior, saying, “I am just here to say sorry. I personally had a lapse in judgment. It wasn’t cool on my part.” Allahbadia expressed regret for not considering the impact of his words, especially since his podcast is watched by people of all ages. “I don’t want to be the kind of person who takes that responsibility lightly,” he added, stressing that family is something he would never disrespect.

The comments in question, which were made in a joking context during a segment with a contestant, quickly went viral and prompted outrage. In one of the most controversial moments, Allahbadia asked a contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents… or join in once and stop it forever?” This remark led to widespread condemnation online.

As a result, a formal complaint was filed with both the Mumbai Commissioner and Maharashtra’s Women’s Commission, accusing the show of using abusive language and making obscene remarks about women. The complaint suggested that these comments were made with the intent to gain popularity and financial profit through the show’s online platform, without considering their harmful effects on women’s dignity or younger viewers.

In his apology, Allahbadia confirmed that he had requested the show’s producers to remove the “insensitive sections” from the episode. He concluded his video with, “All I can say in the end is sorry, I hope you can forgive me as a human being.”

While the apology has been issued, the controversy surrounding the episode continues, highlighting the responsibility public figures and influencers hold when it comes to the content they share and its potential impact on their audience.
