Ranveer Allahbadia Remains Unreachable Amid ‘India’s Got Latent’ Investigation

YouTuber yet to respond to multiple police agencies, summoned to appear before Maharashtra Cyber Cell on February 24

New Delhi, February 18: YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia remains out of contact with law enforcement agencies investigating the ‘India’s Got Latent’ controversy, according to a joint statement by Mumbai and Guwahati Police.

Allahbadia has not yet responded to multiple FIRs filed by Maharashtra Cyber Department, Guwahati Police, and Jaipur Police regarding his controversial remarks on the show. Authorities confirmed that he has not cooperated with the investigation so far.

Multiple FIRs and Summons Issued

“Apart from Maharashtra Cyber and Guwahati Police, Jaipur Police have also filed a case against Ranveer Allahbadia, but he has not yet been in contact with them either. Maharashtra Cyber Department has ordered Ranveer to appear before it on February 24,” the police statement read.

In addition to Allahbadia, comedian Samay Raina has been summoned to appear before the Cyber Cell on February 18. The authorities are investigating offensive remarks made during the show, which sparked public outrage and multiple legal actions.

NCW Summons and Delayed Appearance

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has also launched an investigation into the case and issued summons to Allahbadia, Raina, and other individuals involved.

However, many of those summoned failed to appear before the commission, citing:
Personal safety concerns
Prior foreign travel commitments
Other logistical challenges

Allahbadia informed the NCW that he has been receiving death threats and requested a new hearing date after three weeks. The Commission accepted his request and rescheduled the hearing for March 6.

Samay Raina Issues Apology

Meanwhile, show host Samay Raina has apologized for the controversy, stating that his only intention was to entertain people.

In a statement on his Instagram Story, Raina wrote:

“Everything that has been happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all ‘India’s Got Latent’ videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you.”

With ongoing investigations and legal proceedings, authorities are awaiting Allahbadia’s response and compliance with the summons.
