Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life. Or would you join in once and stop it forever?”

While audience members at the show claim that Allahbadia and host Samay Raina repeatedly checked if the contestant was comfortable, their efforts did little to stem the outrage once the clip circulated on social media.

Mumbai-based Mohit Khubani, who attended the live taping, defended the panelists, stating:

Ranveer repeatedly apologized on stage and even hugged the contestant after he won the show. He was proactive in checking if the contestant was okay, saying, ‘Sorry aapko bura toh nahi laga?’ multiple times.”

Khubani also mentioned that the comedians ensured the contestant’s comfort level before proceeding with the joke, but many critics argue that such remarks cross ethical boundaries in entertainment.

Public Outrage & Legal Trouble

Despite the on-stage apologies, the viral clip led to a massive social media storm, with demands for the show to be banned in India. Politicians and public figures condemned the remarks, calling them vulgar and inappropriate.

As a result, multiple FIRs were filed across several states, naming Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija.

In response, Allahbadia issued a public apology, admitting to a “lapse in judgment” and acknowledging his mistake.

“I deeply regret my words. It was an error in judgment, and I take full responsibility. I sincerely apologize to anyone hurt by my remark.”

Following the backlash, Samay Raina deleted all episodes of ‘India’s Got Latent’ from his YouTube channel.

Supreme Court Criticism & Legal Ruling

The controversy reached the Supreme Court, where Allahbadia sought the clubbing of multiple FIRs filed against him.

During the hearing, the SC sharply criticized Allahbadia, stating that his remarks were “vulgar” and that he should feel “ashamed” for making them.

However, in a relief for the YouTuber, the court granted him interim protection from arrest, ruling that no further cases could be filed against him.

The case remains a high-profile example of the fine line between comedy and offensive content, highlighting the legal and social responsibility of public figures in India.
