Ranveer himself is unhealthy for society, Says Fitness Influencer Over Protein Bar Controversy

Fitness influencer raises concerns over Ranveer Singh’s protein bar, prompting mixed reactions online.

December 22, 2024: Ranveer Singh, known for his boundless energy and flamboyant persona, recently ventured into the business world with the launch of a protein food and supplements brand. His flagship product, touted as India’s first protein wafer bar, was introduced in November, generating significant buzz among fitness enthusiasts and fans alike. However, the product has recently come under scrutiny after a fitness influencer claimed it contains potentially harmful ingredients.

Fitness and nutrition coach Shitija, known on social media as “Fit Chef,” posted a video raising concerns about the protein bar’s ingredient list. Without directly naming Ranveer or his brand, Shitija used a blurred image of the actor holding the product and cautioned her followers against blindly trusting celebrity-endorsed items. “It’s being promoted by a massive Bollywood celebrity who looks so good that you just want to buy everything that he sells. But you should always check the ingredients,” she said.

Netizens React

Critics were quick to take jabs at Ranveer Singh and his brand:

  • “Newsflash: He doesn’t eat them himself. It’s all a money grab,” a Reddit user commented.
  • “Ranveer himself is unhealthy for society,” quipped another.
  • “In case you didn’t know, Ranveer as a brand himself is pretty unhealthy,” one user remarked.

However, some defended the actor, pointing out the double standards in celebrity endorsements:

  • “When celebrities like Ranveer are selling pan masala, you want to focus on protein bars with maida? Weird, but whatever floats your boat,” wrote a supporter.

The Bigger Debate

Ranveer’s protein bar controversy highlights a growing concern among consumers about the transparency of celebrity-backed health and wellness products. While celebrities often lend their names to products for commercial gains, fitness experts and influencers increasingly urge consumers to look beyond marketing and carefully examine nutritional labels.

As the debate continues online, Ranveer Singh has yet to address the allegations. This incident comes on the heels of several high-profile controversies surrounding celebrity-endorsed products, underscoring the importance of accountability in the health and fitness industry.
