Ranveer Singh Exits Prasanth Varma's 'Rakshas' Project
Ranveer Singh’s highly anticipated film ‘Rakshas’ with director Prasanth Varma has been shelved. In a joint statement, the duo announced that the project will not proceed.
Ranveer shared, “Prasanth is a very special talent. We met and explored the idea of a film together. Hopefully, we will collaborate on something exciting in the future.”
Echoing Ranveer’s sentiments, Prasanth praised Ranveer’s unique energy and talent. “Ranveer’s energy and talent is rare to find. We shall manifest our forces combining soon sometime in the future,” he said.
Despite this setback, fans have much to look forward to. Ranveer is set to headline Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 3.’ In an August 2023 announcement, Farhan revealed Ranveer as the new Don in the third installment of the iconic franchise. The teaser featured Ranveer in a sleek leather outfit, lighting a cigarette and introducing himself as Don.
The ‘Don’ series, known for its compelling stories and thrilling action, previously starred Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. The first film, released in 2006, won Best Asian Film at the Neuchatel International Fantastic Film Festival. Its sequel, released in 2011, was also a hit, with Hrithik Roshan making a special appearance in ‘Don 2.’
Farhan Akhtar’s rendition of the 1978 classic ‘Don,’ which originally featured Amitabh Bachchan, continues to captivate audiences, with Ranveer Singh now stepping into the iconic role.
