Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha Starrer 'Lootera' Set To Hit Theaters Again
February 19, 2025: The much-loved 2013 period romance film Lootera, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, is returning to the big screen nearly 12 years after its initial release. Starring Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha, the movie, which has since garnered a loyal fanbase, will be re-released in theaters on March 7, 2025.
PVR Cinemas made the announcement on Instagram, sharing a poster of the film featuring the lead pair Ranveer and Sonakshi. The caption read, “It’s time, everyone! Experience the magic of Lootera once again on the big screen, starting March 7. Re-releasing at PVR INOX on March 7!”
Set in the 1950s, Lootera follows the story of Varun Shrivastav (Ranveer Singh), a charming conman who deceives Pakhi Roy Chaudhary (Sonakshi Sinha), the daughter of a wealthy landlord, with plans to carry out a heist. However, as the story unfolds, tragic consequences arise when Varun’s true identity is revealed. Inspired by O. Henry’s short story The Last Leaf, the film is known for its emotional depth, poignant storytelling, and evocative performances.
While Lootera had a successful run during its original release, it has since earned an even stronger following, becoming a favorite among both audiences and critics for its touching narrative and beautiful portrayal of love and loss.
Fans of the film will now have the opportunity to relive this cinematic masterpiece in theaters once more, starting March 7, 2025!
