Rapper Badshah Breaks Silence On Mocking Donald Trump At US Concert
Rapper Badshah has defended his viral dig at President Donald Trump, saying the spontaneous lyric change was about holding power accountable. The singer, who also used his stage to highlight the devastating Punjab floods, asserts that his music is about blending entertainment with meaningful commentary.
September 11, 2025: Rapper-singer Badshah has finally talked about the time he made fun of US President Donald Trump at a concert, saying that the unexpected change in lyrics was meant to point out how silly politics can be. The rapper also utilized his stage to talk about the terrible flooding in Punjab, showing that he has a sense of humor and a social conscience.
This scene, which has been seen millions of times online, happened during a recent show in New Jersey as part of his “Unfinished North American” tour. In the middle of his blockbuster song “Tareefan,” Badshah changed the lyrics from “Kinniya Tareefan Chahidi Ae Tenu” (How many compliments do you want?) to “Kinni Tariff Chahidiye Trump Ko” (How much tariff does Trump want?). People in the audience cheered, and videos of the event rapidly went viral.
Badshah talked about how the jab came out of nowhere in an exclusive interview. “Hip-hop has always been about pointing out how ridiculous power is. “It felt right to use humor live to bring attention to something that affects India and its people,” he said, referring to Trump’s recent 50% tariff on more than half of India’s exports to the US. These tariffs have hurt many Indian businesses, such as textiles and jewelery, very badly.
Badshah also spoke out on the recent Punjab flood issue in addition to making fun of politics. “I also talked about the Punjab flood crisis at the very beginning of the tour because it’s been on my mind and I’m very worried,” he remarked. The state has reported more than 50 deaths and thousands of others have been forced to leave their homes. Most of its districts have been affected. The Punjab government has issued a full assistance package, but many people are still living in temporary relief camps.
Badshah’s “Unfinished North American” tour has already taken him to Virginia and New Jersey. He will also be performing in the Bay Area, Seattle, Dallas, and Chicago.
