Rashmika Mandanna Applauds Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD

As Nag Ashwin’s highly anticipated directorial project, Kalki 2898 AD, finally hit theaters, actor Rashmika Mandanna expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the entire team behind the film. On Sunday, Rashmika took to her X (formerly Twitter) account to share her excitement and admiration for the film.

“OH MY FREAKING GOD! @nagashwin7 you are a beautiful GENIUS! INCREDIBLE!! Congratulations Kalki. This film deserves all the love and more. Watching our mythical gods come alive on our screens is my favourite part of it… God!! What a film!!!!,” Rashmika wrote, encapsulating her awe and appreciation.

Kalki 2898 AD, featuring megastars Amitabh Bachchan and Prabhas, saw a phenomenal opening. Directed by Nag Ashwin, this post-apocalyptic film draws inspiration from Hindu scriptures and is set in the year 2898 AD. The star-studded cast also includes Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani.

In anticipation of the film’s release on June 27, the makers organized a grand pre-release event in Mumbai. Kamal Haasan attended the event, sharing insights about his character and his initial reaction to Nag Ashwin’s vision for the project. He praised Ashwin as a man of few words but great ideas, emphasizing his ability to present those ideas compellingly.

“I don’t underestimate these ordinary-looking guys. They have a depth to them that does not show unless you talk to them. Great ideas translate better when you present them in the right way and Nagi knew how to do it,” Kamal Haasan said. He added, “I always wanted to play a bad man because the bad man gets to do all the good things and have fun. Where the heroes are singing romantic songs and waiting for the heroine, he (bad guy) can just go ahead and do what he wants. I thought I was going to play the bad man so it’s going to be fun. But then, he (Ashwin) wanted it to be different. I’m almost like a sage in the film with a bad idea.”

The film also features cameo appearances by actors Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, and Mrunal Thakur, adding to its star-studded appeal.

Rashmika Mandanna’s enthusiastic endorsement of Kalki 2898 AD highlights the film’s innovative storytelling and the compelling performances of its cast. As the movie continues to captivate audiences, it stands as a testament to Nag Ashwin’s visionary direction and the collective talent of the team behind this cinematic masterpiece.
