February 15, 2025: Bengaluru/Hyderabad: Rashmika Mandanna, who rose to fame through Kannada cinema, has found herself at the center of a fresh controversy. During the promotional event for her upcoming film Chhaava, Rashmika referred to herself as a Hyderabadi, sparking criticism from Kannada fans.
🎤 Rashmika’s statement that triggered backlash:
“I am from Hyderabad. I came from there alone, and I think I am a part of your family now.”
This remark did not sit well with fans from Karnataka, who accused the actress of forgetting her roots. Many pointed out that Rashmika hails from Kodagu, Karnataka, and started her career in Kannada films before shifting focus to Telugu and Hindi industries.
✔ Kannada fans questioned her allegiance, asking when she became a Hyderabadi.
✔ Many accused her of neglecting the Kannada film industry, despite beginning her career with the 2016 hit Kirik Party.
