Reese Witherspoon’s Son Deacon Phillippe Set to Star with Liam Neeson in Dark Heist Comedy

Deacon Phillippe, the 20-year-old son of Hollywood stars Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe, is on the verge of making his feature film debut in an exciting new project alongside veteran actor Liam Neeson. According to reports from Deadline, Phillippe is currently in discussions to join the cast of 4 Kids Walk into a Bank, a dark heist comedy set to be directed by Frankie Shaw.

The film is an adaptation of the popular graphic novel by Matthew Rosenberg and Tyler Boss, known for its unique blend of humor and suspense. The story revolves around Danny, played by Neeson, an ex-bank robber who gets pulled back into the criminal underworld when his granddaughter, Paige (Talia Ryder), discovers a new heist being planned by his former gang. Determined to protect her grandfather, Paige enlists the help of her closest friends to rob the bank themselves, hoping to derail the gang’s plans.

In addition to Neeson and Ryder, the film’s cast includes promising young talents such as Noah Jupe, Whitney Peak, and Jack Dylan Grazer, making it a star-studded ensemble with high expectations.

For Deacon Phillippe, this film represents an exciting step forward in his budding career. While he is already carving out a name for himself in the music industry, having released his debut album A New Earth in April 2023, this role marks his first major foray into the world of feature films. Phillippe previously appeared in a guest role on Netflix’s popular series Never Have I Ever, where he played Parker, a member of a rival debate team.

Reflecting on his dual interests in acting and music, Deacon has shared the challenges of balancing both pursuits, especially while attending New York University. “Recording it in my dorm while attending school was one of the most challenging things I ever did,” he remarked in an interview reported by People magazine.

Despite his emerging acting career, Deacon’s primary focus remains on music, a sentiment echoed by his father, Ryan Phillippe. In a statement to People magazine, Ryan expressed his pride in his son’s achievements, noting, “I am so proud. He’s about to go to college for music. That’s his primary focus. The acting thing he likes to do, and he will do according to what his appetite for it is, but his focus is primarily music.”

As Deacon Phillippe steps into the spotlight with 4 Kids Walk into a Bank, fans of both his parents and his own work are eager to see how he continues to navigate his dual passions in the entertainment industry. With a strong lineage in Hollywood and a growing list of accomplishments, Deacon is undoubtedly a rising star to watch.
