Remembering Kelley Mack, ‘The Walking Dead’ Actress and Talented Filmmaker, Who Passed Away at 33

Beloved for Her Role as Addy, Mack is Honored for Her Versatility as an Artist, Voice Actor, and Award-Winning Producer, Leaving Behind a Legacy of Creativity.

Cincinnati, Ohio—August 6, 2025: The entertainment industry is sad to have lost a bright and talented person. Kelley Mack, a talented actor and filmmaker best known for her work on AMC’s The Walking Dead, died on August 2 at the age of 33. Her family verified that she died from glioma in her hometown of Cincinnati. She left behind a legacy of creativity and a large body of work that included both acting and directing.

Fans of The Walking Dead got to know Mack, who was born Kelley Lynne Klebenow, during Season 9, when she played the character Addy in five exciting episodes. In the season finale, her character’s story took a startling turn when the Whisperers kidnapped her. Mack had a long and varied career after this famous role, including guest spots on hit TV shows like 9-1-1, Chicago, and the Modern Family spinoff Schooled. She has acted in movies including Broadcast Signal Intrusion and the upcoming picture Universal.

Mack started her career as a child performer in commercials and displayed her artistic talent early on. The Tisch School of the Arts gave her an Acting Award for her first role in The Elephant Garden (2008), a short film that also won the Student Visionary Award at the Tribeca Film Festival. This early achievement showed that she had many skills.

Mack had lived in Los Angeles for the past ten years, where she not only acted but also became a skilled voice-over artist and producer. In the Oscar-winning animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, she was the voice of Hailee Steinfeld’s Gwen Stacy. Mack was also a committed filmmaker. He wrote, directed, and edited the short film Positive (2015) and the award-winning short film A Knock at the Door (2016). She was also innovative in cinematography, which she did for the 2014 short film The Kingdom. She was an executive producer and star of the upcoming feature picture Universal when she died.

Kelley is survived by her parents, Kristen and Lindsay Klebenow, her sister Kathryn, her brother Parker, her grandparents Lois and Larry Klebenow, and her boyfriend Logan Lanier. On August 16 at 1 p.m., there will be a memorial service at the Glendale Lyceum in Glendale, Ohio, to honor her life. The family is also arranging a future celebration of life in Los Angeles for her many friends and coworkers in the area. This shows how much she meant to so many people and how much love she inspired.
