Richa Chadha, Ali Fazal’s ‘TAPS’ Celebrates Love Beyond Boundaries, Set For Release

February 19, 2025: Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal have come together for TAPS, a deeply moving LGBTQ+ relationship drama that explores love without boundaries. The film tells the story of a couple navigating their emotional journey to reconnect with one another. Featuring debutants Ullas Samrat and Rohit Mehra, TAPS has been praised for its tender yet impactful portrayal of LGBTQ+ relationships and has won the prestigious KASHISH QDrishti Film Grant.

Speaking about the significance of the project, Richa Chadha emphasized the power of cinema to change perspectives, stating, “Cinema is powerful because it can shift perspectives. TAPS is one of those stories that gently yet powerfully peels back the layers of identity, love, and self-acceptance. We want people to open their hearts a little more.” Ali Fazal, her co-star and producer, echoed this sentiment, adding, “Love has always been painted in broad strokes–roses, candlelight, grand gestures. But love is so much more than that. TAPS captures something intimate, raw, and real. It reminds us that love isn’t just about who we love but how we love with honesty, courage, and resilience.”

The film is produced by Sudhanshu Saria, who reflected on how TAPS reminded him of his debut film LOEV, noting that it was the perfect project to continue the legacy of supporting queer narratives in cinema. “It felt like the perfect way to build on LOEV‘s legacy in queer cinema by supporting another story that normalizes queer representation on our screens,” said Saria.

The KASHISH Arts Foundation, co-producer of the film, also weighed in on the importance of the film’s message, saying, “We live in a world where love is still policed, where identity is still debated, and where so many individuals are still searching for acceptance. TAPS subtly makes us think about why we still struggle to embrace love in all its diversity.”

Directed by Arvind Caulagi and produced by Sudhanshu Saria’s Four Line Entertainment, TAPS will be available for free on YouTube starting Thursday, February 20, offering viewers an intimate look at a love story that transcends barriers and celebrates diversity.
