‘What a Warrior! So Proud!’: RJ Mahvash Cheers for Yuzvendra Chahal After IPL Loss

June 5, 2025: RJ Mahvash has shared a heartfelt Instagram post for cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal following Punjab Kings’ defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2025 final. In her emotional note, Mahvash praised Chahal’s incredible resilience and revealed that he played the entire tournament with three fractures.

In a carousel of pictures posted on Thursday, Mahvash included team moments with Punjab Kings’ captain Shreyas Iyer, coach Ricky Ponting, co-owner Preity Zinta, and Chahal himself—who was seen holding a pillow bearing his name. Alongside the photos, she penned a powerful tribute to the spinner’s courage.

“They fought, stayed and played till the last match!” Mahvash wrote. “And a special post to @yuzi_chahal23 because what people don’t know is that his ribs got fractured in the second match only and his bowling finger got fractured later. This guy played the entire season with 3 fractures! We have seen him scream and cry in pain, but never give up. What warrior spirit you have, man!”

She went on to praise the Punjab Kings team for their unwavering grit: “The team kept fighting till the last ball! It was nothing but an honour to be a supporter of this team this year. Well played boys!”

In a gracious gesture, she also congratulated RCB for their historic win, calling IPL a true festival for Indian fans.

Rumoured Relationship with Chahal

Mahvash and Chahal were first linked in 2024, during his marriage to choreographer Dhanashree Verma. Although Mahvash initially denied dating Chahal amid divorce rumours, the two have been frequently spotted together since his separation was finalized in March 2025. Their joint appearances throughout this IPL season have further fuelled speculation about their relationship.
