Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma has ignited speculation about a possible collaboration with streaming giant Netflix after sharing a cryptic Instagram story that appeared to hint at a project involving his IPL franchise, the Mumbai Indians.

The intriguing post showed what looked like a script page bearing the logos of Netflix and Mumbai Indians. Titled “Draft #45” and dated April 9, 2026, the document had part of its title deliberately obscured—fueling widespread curiosity among fans and cricket followers.

Within minutes of the post appearing online, social media platforms were flooded with speculation about the nature of the project. Many fans suggested it could be a biographical series on Rohit Sharma’s life, while others believed it might be a behind-the-scenes documentary chronicling Mumbai Indians’ journey in the Indian Premier League.

Despite the buzz, neither Rohit Sharma nor the Mumbai Indians franchise has officially confirmed any collaboration or provided details about the project.

Mumbai Indians’ Tough Start Against Rajasthan Royals

While the Netflix speculation dominated online chatter, former India spinner Piyush Chawla offered insights into Mumbai Indians’ recent performance following their loss to the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026.

According to Chawla, Mumbai Indians were already under pressure early in the chase due to quick wickets during the Powerplay.

“Rajasthan Royals looked ready from the start, especially in the Powerplay. Their batting gave them a strong foundation. With the ball, Jofra Archer bowled brilliantly, and Nandre Burger picked up key wickets,” Chawla said during a broadcast on JioHotstar.

He explained that losing three wickets inside the first three overs made the chase of 151 runs in an 11-over rain-affected match extremely challenging.

“When you are chasing 150 in 11 overs and lose three wickets for around 20 runs, it becomes very hard. Mumbai Indians were already behind in the first few overs,” he added.

Jaiswal And Young Sooryavanshi Shine In Royals’ Victory

Chawla also praised the impressive batting display from Yashasvi Jaiswal, who delivered a match-winning unbeaten knock of 77 runs.

“Sometimes a player feels very confident against a certain team. Jaiswal looked comfortable from the beginning and played with confidence. Scoring 77 runs in an 11-over match shows how impactful he was,” Chawla noted.

The former spinner further applauded teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for his fearless approach against a formidable Mumbai bowling attack.

“Playing well against the Mumbai Indians is always special because they have top bowlers like Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah. When a young player performs like that, it gets everyone’s attention,” he said.

Rajasthan Royals secured a convincing 27-run victory in the rain-curtailed contest, powered by an explosive 80-run opening partnership between Jaiswal and Sooryavanshi. The win marked Rajasthan’s third consecutive victory in the IPL 2026 season at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati.
