March 29, 2025: Filmmaker Ryan Coogler has expressed his desire to work with Hollywood legend Denzel Washington on Black Panther 3. Speaking on The Nightcap podcast with hosts Shannon Sharpe and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, Coogler confirmed that he plans to cast Washington in the upcoming superhero film.
“I’ve been dying to work with Denzel. I’m hoping we can make that happen. I’ve got every intention of working with him on that movie. As long as he’s interested, man, it’s going to happen. He’s a living legend and a great mentor for so many of us. He’s all about looking out for us, now,” Coogler said during the podcast.

When Sharpe asked about the timeline for Black Panther 3, Coogler teased that the film’s release might not be too far off, hinting that it would happen “not long.” This revelation follows Washington’s casual remark in November to Australia’s Today show, where he mentioned that Coogler was writing a part for him in the sequel.
Although Marvel has yet to officially announce Black Panther 3, the studio has dated a number of other Marvel films, including Avengers sequels and Spider-Man 4, scheduled beyond 2025. Fans are eagerly awaiting the next installment of the Black Panther franchise, especially with Coogler’s enthusiasm for bringing Washington into the Marvel universe.
