Ryan Reynolds Cracks Joke About Blake Lively's Legal Feud with Justin Baldoni at SNL 50—Blake Looks Shocked!
February 17, 2025: Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively Step Out Amid Legal Battle
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively made a rare public appearance at Saturday Night Live’s 50th-anniversary celebration, their first major outing since the legal controversy involving Blake and her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni. True to his comedic nature, Ryan couldn’t resist making light of the situation—much to Blake’s apparent surprise.

During the event, hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler spotted Reynolds and Lively in the audience and greeted them with, “Ryan! How’s it going?” To which Ryan quipped, “Great! Why, what have you heard?”
The audience erupted in laughter, but Blake, who had been all smiles, suddenly looked up at Ryan in what appeared to be genuine shock—perhaps not expecting him to joke about their current legal troubles in such a public setting.
Social media was abuzz with reactions, as fans were delighted to see the couple together despite the controversy.
Blake Lively has accused Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment and alleged that he orchestrated a smear campaign against her. These accusations were initially filed as a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department and have since escalated into a full-fledged lawsuit.
In response, Baldoni has denied all allegations and filed a defamation lawsuit against The New York Times over its coverage of the case. In an even bolder move, Baldoni sued Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist for $400 million on January 16, claiming reputational and financial damages.
Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, stated that the legal proceedings have left Baldoni financially and emotionally drained. As part of his defense, Baldoni has publicly released:
Despite these efforts, Freedman has maintained that “once allegations are made, they are perceived as facts,” making them extremely difficult to fight.
With the trial scheduled for May 2026, this legal showdown is far from over. Meanwhile, it seems Ryan Reynolds is handling the tension the best way he knows—through humor. But judging by Blake’s reaction, she might not have been in on the joke!
