The project, which was first announced in 2022, is being produced by Reynolds’ Maximum Effort production company in collaboration with actor and filmmaker Colin Hanks.

In a recent update reported by Deadline, Reynolds reflected on Candy’s profound impact, calling him a “beautiful man” and a “beautiful storyteller.” He emphasized Candy’s humility and character, stating, “He was so generous with people, and he was a good person when no one was watching. And I think that’s really important.”
