Sadhguru Compares Amit Shah With Sardar Patel During Shivratri Celebrations At Isha Foundation
February 27, 2025: Isha Foundation founder, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, praised Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his efforts in strengthening India’s national unity, particularly highlighting the improvements in Jammu and Kashmir. During the Maha Shivratri celebration at Isha Foundation in Coimbatore on Wednesday, Sadhguru spoke about the significant changes that have occurred in the region and how the situation in Jammu and Kashmir had almost returned to normal.
Sadhguru noted that terrorism, which had long plagued the area, was being effectively tackled under the leadership of Amit Shah. He drew a comparison between the present day and the actions of India’s first Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who played a crucial role in uniting the country after independence through the integration of princely states.
“After Independence, there was one minister who was also the Home Minister. Without him, the nation wouldn’t have consolidated. What Patel did at that time to unite the nation was one of the most significant acts post-independence,” Sadhguru remarked. He then went on to compare the actions of the current Home Minister, saying, “Our present Home Minister has done, in some ways, what Sardar Patel did at that time by stitching and uniting the nation.”
Sadhguru also praised the scrapping of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and how the law and order situation had dramatically improved. He shared a personal anecdote about being invited to play golf in Kashmir, something he noted was a sign of the improved situation. He applauded the security forces’ efforts and recognized the leadership of Amit Shah in the region’s transformation.
In addition to these remarks, Sadhguru spoke about the spiritual significance of Maha Shivratri and emphasized its universal appeal. He humorously responded to a question about whether people of different faiths could participate, saying, “Muslims cannot come, Christians cannot come, Hindus definitely cannot come. Only human beings can come, because this is a celebration of human nature.”
During the celebrations, Amit Shah offered prayers at ‘Dhyanalinga’, and Sadhguru announced that he would offer the midnight Mahamantra (Om Namah Shivaya) initiation to attendees, aimed at bringing ultimate well-being.
The event will also feature a range of performances, including those by renowned artists such as Ajay-Atul, Muktidan Gadhvi, and others. Additionally, Sadhguru unveiled a free meditation app, “Miracle of the Mind,” which includes a 7-minute guided meditation designed to help people build a daily practice for inner well-being.
The celebrations, held at the Isha Yoga Centre, began on February 26 at 6 pm and will continue until 6 am on February 27.
