January 17, 2025: Mumbai Police have confirmed that the search for the intruder who attacked Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is ongoing. According to officials, the suspect was last seen near Bandra railway station and is believed to have caught the first local train in the morning, heading towards Vasai Virar. Police teams are now conducting searches in areas like Vasai, Nalasopara, and Virar.

Earlier, Mumbai Police recovered a portion of the blade that was extracted from Saif’s back, while efforts continue to locate the remaining part. Meanwhile, Lilavati Hospital announced that Saif’s family and doctors would decide later on whether he should be moved from the ICU to a normal ward as part of his ongoing recovery.

The attack took place around 2:30 AM on Thursday when an intruder confronted the actor’s maid at his residence in Bandra. When Saif attempted to intervene and de-escalate the situation, it turned violent, and the actor sustained several stab wounds. Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital where he underwent surgery to remove a 2.5-inch knife lodged in his spine, which caused a major injury to his thoracic spinal cord. Doctors are monitoring his recovery, and while he is now “out of danger,” he remains in the ICU.

An FIR was filed regarding the attack, with the statement from the maid, who is the complainant, revealing that the attacker demanded one crore rupees from the family. According to her, the intruder attacked her with a hexa blade, injuring both of her hands, and during the scuffle, the attacker demanded money. The maid recounted how the attacker tried to harm her and later moved towards Saif, whom he also attacked.
