
Saif Ali Khan Attack: Fingerprint Don't Match- Mystery Deepens
January 26, 2025: Mumbai Police’s investigation into the shocking knife attack on actor Saif Ali Khan has taken an unexpected turn. Forensic tests have revealed that the 19 sets of fingerprints collected from Khan’s Bandra residence do not match those of the accused, Shariful Islam.

The state’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) confirmed the mismatch through a system-generated report, a significant development in the case. Mumbai Police has now sent additional samples for further analysis to strengthen their probe.

The 54-year-old actor was attacked on January 15 when an intruder broke into his home. Upon confronting the assailant, Khan suffered six stab wounds, including a near-fatal injury to his spine. Doctors reported that one of the knife wounds caused spinal fluid leakage and came dangerously close—just 2mm—from his spinal cord. Fortunately, Khan has been discharged from the hospital and is recovering, though he remains on bed rest.

The accused, Shariful Islam, a Bangladeshi national, allegedly entered India illegally. He reportedly confessed to attempting the burglary in exchange for money to obtain fake citizenship documents. The police are now hunting for the individual who promised to help Shariful with these documents.
To identify the suspect, Mumbai Police collaborated with Western Railway, utilizing their facial recognition system to analyze CCTV footage from the building. While Shariful was apprehended based on these visuals, investigators are working to gather conclusive evidence to ensure a strong case against him.
This latest twist in the investigation adds to the intrigue surrounding the high-profile case, keeping the focus on Mumbai Police’s efforts to resolve it.
