Why No Driver?

Saif clarified why he had to take an auto rickshaw to Lilavati Hospital after the attack. “Nobody stays here all night. Everyone has a home to go to. We have some people staying in the house, but not the drivers,” he explained. He admitted he would have driven himself but couldn’t find the car keys in the chaos of the moment. “I was completely lucid and didn’t want to wait for the driver to arrive,” he added.

Quick Recovery Raises Eyebrows

Addressing questions about his swift recovery, Saif, who walked out of the hospital five days after undergoing two surgeries, said, “I expected mixed reactions. People ridicule, question, and make fun of things like this, and that’s fine. It’s what gives the world its color. If everyone had a sympathetic reaction, it would be dull.”

No Weapons at Home

Responding to speculation about the lack of self-defense measures in his Bandra home, Saif clarified, “All weapons in the house are decorative. I do not like keeping guns at home.”

Details of the Attack

Saif sustained six wounds, including two deep ones, during the attack and underwent surgery on the same day. After spending five days in Lilavati Hospital, he was discharged on January 21. Recently, he made his first public appearance with a bandaged neck and arm cast at a Netflix India event, where he promoted his upcoming film Jewel Thief.
