Siddharth Anand’s first direct-to-OTT thriller promises high-stakes action, cinematic grandeur, and a classic Bollywood heist twist
Mumbai, April 15: Netflix is set to deliver a thrilling dose of action and style with its upcoming original film ‘Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins’, led by Saif Ali Khan in the role of the suave and enigmatic thief, Rehan Roy. Streaming from April 25, the film marks a significant milestone as the first direct-to-streaming venture from “Pathaan” director Siddharth Anand’s Marflix Pictures.
In this high-octane action thriller, Saif is joined by an impressive ensemble — Jaideep Ahlawat as the menacing mafia boss Rajan Aulakh, Kunal Kapoor as dogged detective Vikram Patel, and Nikita Dutta as Farah, Roy’s love interest with secrets of her own.
Directed by Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal, and penned by acclaimed writer Sumit Aroraa, Jewel Thief promises a gripping narrative wrapped in glitz, danger, and old-school heist charm.
“We wanted to create a cinematic universe that felt both classic and fresh. The story is slick, the characters are layered, and the scale is massive,” said producers Siddharth and Mamta Anand.
Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, VP of Content at Netflix India, described the film as “an ode to the classic Bollywood heist film — with scale, style and all the swagger.”
With the anticipation rising, Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins is all set to give viewers a grand heist spectacle from the comfort of their homes.
