January 16, 2025: After the shocking attack on Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra residence, the actor's team has issued a statement confirming that he is now out of danger and in recovery.
The statement read, “Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery, and the doctors are monitoring his progress. All family members are safe, and the police are investigating the incident.”
The team also expressed gratitude toward the medical staff at Lilavati Hospital, where Saif received treatment, thanking Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Dr. Nitin Dange, Dr. Leena Jain, and the hospital team for their care. The message also extended thanks to fans and well-wishers for their support during this difficult time.
The Mumbai Police, led by Dixit Gedam, Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 9, confirmed that an investigation is underway but declined to share further details. The incident, which occurred late Wednesday night at the Satguru Sharan building, saw an intruder confront Saif's maid. When Saif intervened to defuse the situation, a scuffle ensued, during which the actor sustained six stab wounds, two of which were deep, with one near his spine.
Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital at 3 AM on Thursday, where he underwent surgery. Hospital authorities mentioned the discovery of a foreign object near his spine as part of the injury.
The Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA) President Ashoke Pandit condemned the attack, raising concerns about the security of the building, asking how an intruder was able to reach the 12th floor and enter the actor's home. He expressed confidence in the Mumbai Police’s ability to investigate and address the matter.
As of now, Saif Ali Khan remains in recovery, and authorities continue their investigation into the disturbing incident.
