January 22, 2025: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has been discharged from Lilavati Hospital after undergoing surgery for injuries sustained in a stabbing incident at his Bandra residence. The actor, who suffered stab wounds to his arm and neck during the burglary attempt, is now recovering at home, and his family is relieved and grateful for his swift recovery.
Saif’s sister, Saba Pataudi, expressed her deep appreciation for the female staff at his residence who acted heroically during the frightening ordeal. On Instagram, she shared a heartfelt message for them, writing, “The unsung heroes… who literally pulled their weight when it mattered most! Bless you both n ALL those who contributed in keeping my brother n his family safe! You are the BEST.” She also shared a picture with the staff members, including domestic help Eliyama Philip.
The burglary attempt occurred when an intruder, later identified as Mohd Shariful Islam Shehzad, entered Saif’s home with the alleged intent of theft. The intruder stabbed the actor in his thoracic spine before being apprehended by the police. Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital by an auto-rickshaw driver who helped during the emergency. The driver shared his account of the night, detailing how he witnessed a bloodied Saif being escorted into his vehicle. He later learned the identity of the bleeding man was Saif Ali Khan.
In response to the crime, police quickly formed 20 teams to investigate the case, and the accused was eventually apprehended in Thane while trying to escape. The police confirmed that the suspect hails from Bangladesh’s Jhalokati district. A case has been filed under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) as part of the investigation.
Saif’s family and fans are relieved that the actor is recovering well, and Saba Pataudi’s gratitude toward the staff further highlights the importance of their role in ensuring Saif and his family’s safety during such a harrowing incident.
