Saira Rahman Wishes AR Rahman A Speedy Recovery, Clarifies Separation Status

March 16, 2025: Composer AR Rahman’s estranged wife, Saira Rahman, has expressed her well-wishes for the music maestro’s recovery after he was hospitalized due to dehydration symptoms. She clarified that the two are not divorced but separated and requested that the media not refer to her as his ex-wife.

In a heartfelt statement, Saira shared her support for AR Rahman during his time of recovery. She expressed, “AR is in my prayers, and I wish him the best of health. In this tough time, I stand by him as I also recover from my surgery. We sincerely appreciate the support, love, and prayers of his fans and well-wishers.”

In an accompanying audio message, Saira stated, “I got the news that he had chest pain and underwent an angiogram. By the grace of Allah, he is fine now.” She emphasized that they are still married, but due to her health issues over the past two years, they have been separated. Saira requested the media to refrain from calling her his ex-wife, as they are still legally married.

Saira, who was also hospitalized recently due to a medical emergency, shared, “I didn’t want to stress him out with my health, which is why we are separated. But my prayers are always with him.”

The couple, who married in 1995 and share three children, announced their separation in November 2024 after nearly 29 years of marriage, citing emotional strain.

Meanwhile, AR Rahman, who had visited the Apollo Hospital in Chennai with dehydration symptoms, was discharged after a routine check-up. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin also shared a health update, reassuring that Rahman is fine and will be returning home soon.

Saira concluded her statement with a message of care and compassion, urging everyone, especially Rahman’s family, to ensure he doesn’t face stress during his recovery.
