Veteran screenwriter shows recovery after brain haemorrhage treatment

March 17, 2026: Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan is expected to be discharged from Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday, nearly a month after being admitted following a brain haemorrhage. According to reports, the 90-year-old has shown significant recovery and is likely to return home soon. He had undergone a specialised diagnostic procedure known as Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA), performed by neurosurgeon Nitin Dange.

Earlier, his son, actor Arbaaz Khan, had confirmed that his father’s condition was improving and that discharge was expected shortly. Salim Khan was admitted to the hospital on February 17 and was initially placed on ventilator support as a precaution. Doctors later stated that he was stable and responding well to treatment, though recovery was taking time due to his age.

The family has maintained strict privacy regarding his health, with limited updates being shared publicly. Close sources revealed that Salman Khan and the family requested medical authorities not to disclose further details, emphasising that health remains a private matter despite widespread public interest.
