Salman Khan Begins Shooting for Patriotic Drama ‘Battle of Galwan’

Superstar dons Indian Army uniform in Apoorva Lakhia’s film on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash

Mumbai, September 9 – Bollywood’s beloved superstar Salman Khan has officially stepped into the battlefield of his next cinematic venture, Battle of Galwan. The actor shared a striking first look from the film on Instagram, where he is seen in an Indian Army uniform, complete with a rugged moustache and an intense gaze that radiates raw patriotism.

The image quickly set social media abuzz, with fans hailing Salman’s transformation into a soldier as both powerful and stirring.

A Film Rooted in Real Sacrifice

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Battle of Galwan is based on the Galwan Valley clash of June 16, 2020, when twenty brave Indian soldiers laid down their lives during a fierce hand-to-hand combat against Chinese troops at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh.

The clash, which marked one of the most serious escalations between India and China in decades, triggered a series of military responses, including increased troop deployment, strategic surveys, and disengagement agreements that have since shaped the fragile peace along the border.

By taking on this project, Salman is not only stepping into the shoes of a soldier but also reviving memories of a moment in Indian military history etched in sacrifice and resilience.

Chitrangda Singh Joins the Battle

Opposite Salman, actress Chitrangda Singh will bring her trademark blend of grace and strength to the film. Director Apoorva Lakhia expressed his excitement earlier in July, saying:

“I’ve always wanted to work with Chitrangda since her incredible performance in Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and later in Bob Biswas. In Battle of Galwan, her quiet strength and emotional depth will complement Salman Sir’s powerful presence.”

From Motion Poster to First Look

Back in July, Salman Khan had unveiled a motion poster announcing the project. With blood on his face and fire in his eyes, the teaser video captured the film’s central theme of patriotism and sacrifice, setting the tone for what promises to be one of his most emotionally charged performances.

Now, with the first glimpse from the set, anticipation has only soared higher. Fans and industry watchers alike are calling Battle of Galwan one of the most awaited films of the year, blending Bollywood’s star power with the poignant reality of India’s modern military history.
