📍March 30, 2025— Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, whose latest film Sikandar hit theatres this Eid, has addressed long-standing rumours about his work ethic, especially claims that he shows up late on set and lacks seriousness.
Speaking to India Today, Salman said:
“There are many stories about me coming late and not being serious. But I’ve done over 100 films. That wouldn’t be possible if I were always late or not committed.”
He explained that while some actors begin early, his day starts later due to other responsibilities — from paperwork to workouts, followed by time to understand the scene. Once on set, he adds, he rarely even goes back to his vanity van.
Salman revealed that even light-hearted remarks from friends sometimes backfire:
“People assume I don’t put in much effort — that I just show up and do my thing. That’s not true. A lot of my work is mental — thinking, analysing. I’m a writer’s son — it comes naturally to me.”
He shared that such perceptions can “scare people away from working with me”, making them wrongly believe he lacks professionalism.
Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar stars Salman Khan alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sharman Joshi. The film opened in theatres on March 30, with early reactions ranging from mixed to negative.
