Salman Khan Breaks Silence on Sikandar vs Empuraan Clash: This is What He Said

As Sikandar and L2: Empuraan prepare for an Eid box office face-off, Salman Khan shares his admiration for Mohanlal and Prithviraj, wishing success to all festive releases.

March 27, 2025: With two major Eid releases lined up, the box office is bracing for fireworks. Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan is set to hit theatres on March 27, closely followed by Salman Khan’s action-packed Sikandar on March 30. Speaking to News18, Salman opened up for the first time about the much-discussed box office clash.

Salman Reacts to the Clash

“I love Mohanlal sir as an actor,” said Salman. “Prithviraj is directing it, and I know that it’s going to be an excellent film.”

Salman further added that he isn’t just cheering for Empuraan but also looking forward to other upcoming releases. “There’s Jaat also coming post Sikandar. I wish all of them do well,” he said, referring to Sunny Deol’s April 10 release.

Sikandar: Salman’s Big Eid Comeback

Directed by A.R. Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Sikandar marks Salman’s return to Eid releases. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Kajal Aggarwal, and is being touted as an action-packed entertainer in the vein of Ghajini and Kick.

Prithviraj’s Take: “No Competition”

Meanwhile, Empuraan director Prithviraj Sukumaran also addressed the box office clash at a press event in Delhi. “Salman Khan is one of the biggest stars in the country, and there is no competition between the two movies. I hope it becomes a blockbuster,” he said.

Adding with a smile, “I will have no complaints if you watch L2: Empuraan at 11 a.m. and Sikandar at 1 p.m.”

L2: Empuraan, the sequel to 2019’s Lucifer, stars Mohanlal, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, and Abhimanyu Singh, and is one of Malayalam cinema’s biggest releases of the year.
